Development and Prototyping
Brock Automation maintains a dedicated R&D building complete with a robotic spot weld cell and a projection weld cell. Both systems are easily configurable for vastly different types stampings, materials and fasteners.
The ability to weld stampings while the main build project is going on, brings peace of mind to Program Managers and Process Engineers. Prototyping and first level stampings can be welded and tested well in advance. This allows for Program Managers and Process Engineers to make improvements or identify issues with components and provide their customers with prototype parts.
-Robotic Spot Weld Cell-
This R&D robotic spot weld cell allows for the installation of client’s fixtures and tools. The system utilizes a purpose built HMI (Human Machine Interface) and Valve Bank that is easily adapted to each job. Brock stocks a number of spot weld gun types and transformers that can be configured to whatever the client’s requirements are. The weld data collected from weld development of prototypes or first level stampings can be imported into the weld controls of the new spot weld cell being built. This dramatically reduces the time required to setup the new spot weld cell’s weld controls.
-Projection Weld Cell-
This R&D projection weld cell is used to weld a wide range of nuts and studs to stampings. It is easily configured for virtually any style of stamping or fastener. Brock stocks a number of transformers and has the ability to weld using AC or MFDC weld controls if required.
Many clients use AC weld controls throughout their processes but, MFDC weld controls are gaining in popularity. The weld data collected from weld development, of prototypes or first level stampings, can be imported into the weld controls, of the new projection weld cell being built. This dramatically reduces the time required to setup the new projection weld cell’s weld controls.
